Products specialized for FinFET process of Samsung and TSMC are being developed.

Alpha Solutions, a SAFE design partner of Samsung Foundry, develops interface IP in various process nodes including Samsung's latest process and supplies it to Samsung SAFE's library.

The core IP development goals of Alpha Solutions are minimum core size, minimum power, and best performance.

The IP Design Kit is provided as a complete kit of PHY, which is a hard macro, and a controller that is a soft macro, as well as various support libraries, verification models, mass production support, and firmware.

Above all, since we support all solutions in-house, organic optimization of hard macro, soft macro, and software is possible. It has the advantage of speeding up the success of the customer’s SoC.

The main product lines of Alpha Solutions are as follows.

First, the HDMI and DisplayPort families.

HDMI 2.1 Tx solution that transmits 8K video has the characteristics of minimum core size, minimum power and low jitter.

HDMI 2.1 Rx solution that receives 8K-class video has the features of minimum core size, minimum power and powerful equalizer technology.

The HDCP 1.4/2.3 solution, which encrypts/decrypts high-resolution image information, is characterized by fast operation speed and simple use, as all encryption/decryption engines are composed of hardware, and does not give burden to customer’s SoC.

The second is the MIPI D-PHY/C-PHY family.

The D-PHY 1.0 solution capable of transmitting and receiving up to 6 Gbps and the D-PHY 2.0 solution capable of transmitting and receiving 10 Gbps are licensed.

In addition, we provide a C-PHY solution that can transmit and receive with 2.3 times the efficiency of D-PHY.

The MIPI D-PHY/C-PHY solution has the advantage of realizing high speed with minimal power consumption, and is used as the main interface for smartphones and AR/VR.

The third is LVDS IP Solution.

This is a legacy high-speed interface, which is widely used as an interface for FPGAs, SoCs, and automobiles. To extend this versatility, LVDS IP has built-in additional diagnostic functions in addition to basic communication functions.

For example, it has a function that can self-detect whether there is an abnormality in the transmission line during operation.

In addition, we are expanding our business area with new high-speed interface IP products, predicting that various high-speed interface systems such as automotive semiconductors and artificial intelligence.

As predicted by Moore's Law, the competition for integration within the current SoC is getting fiercer day by day.

Recently, data communication with the outside has reached a stage where it greatly affects the power and performance of the entire system.
